Uhunmwode Women To Hold 1,000-Woman Solidarity March For Tinubu, Okpebholo
Women under the United Amazon Prime Initiative are set to stage a 1,000-woman solidarity march in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The march, themed “Women Breaking the Glass Ceiling for Renewed Hope 2027,” is designed to demonstrate women's unity, political participation and commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots mobilisation and sustainable community development.
The initiative is being organised with the involvement of Hon. Mrs. Iyare Anita, Special Adviser on Social Development and Women Mobilisation to the Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council.
According to the organisers, the gathering will bring together women from Uhunmwode Local Government Area and beyond to express solidarity with the leadership and developmental visions of President Tinubu and Governor Okpebholo, popularly known as Akpakomiza.
The march will also provide an opportunity to promote women's participation in governance, strengthen political awareness and encourage greater representation of women in decision-making processes.
The organisers said the initiative seeks to consolidate solidarity among women and mobilise support for policies and programmes aimed at empowering women, strengthening communities and advancing sustainable development.
Participants are expected to assemble at Idokpa Bypass along the Benin-Auchi Road at 10 a.m. before proceeding to the main event venue at Oasis Hotel Field, near the bypass, scheduled for 12 noon.
The organisers have invited women, political leaders, stakeholders and supporters to participate in the event, describing it as an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of women's collective action in shaping the future of their communities.
They expressed confidence that the march would reinforce the role of women in grassroots mobilisation and promote a shared commitment to empowerment, inclusion and development.
The initiative is anchored on the message: “Stronger Women, Brighter Future!” with unity, mobilisation and action as its guiding principles.
