Uhunmwode Chairman Inspects Azagba Primary School Project, Pledges Additional Facilities
The Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Austin Rotimi Imafidon, popularly known as ISIWINA, has inspected the ongoing construction of a six-classroom block and a six-room toilet facility at Azagba Primary School, with the project reportedly reaching 90 per cent completion.
The unscheduled inspection visit, which took place on Monday, October 26, 2026, provided an opportunity for the Chairman to assess the level of work done and reaffirm his administration’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure across Uhunmwode Local Government Area.
During the visit, Hon. Imafidon assured the community that the Council would provide additional facilities to complement the ongoing project. These include perimeter fencing, electricity and a borehole to ensure access to clean water.
According to the Chairman, the additional provisions are intended to enhance the safety of pupils, promote proper hygiene and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
The Chairman was warmly received by community elders, who commended the Council’s intervention in the school and expressed appreciation for his personal interest in the project’s progress.
Among those present were the Esama of Azagba, Mr. Eric Erhunmwonmase, and the Community Secretary, who acknowledged the importance of the project to the community and its schoolchildren.
The inspection reflects the administration’s approach to monitoring ongoing projects and assessing their progress firsthand, while identifying additional needs that could improve their overall impact on beneficiaries.
With the planned provision of perimeter fencing, electricity and a borehole, the Azagba Primary School project is expected to deliver more than additional classroom space by addressing essential infrastructure needs that contribute to a safer and more comfortable learning environment.
The Uhunmwode Local Government Council’s intervention underscores the importance of investing in basic education and supporting communities through the provision of essential public infrastructure.
