Tekenah Felicitates Bayelsans, Nigerians On 66th Independence Anniversary

Bayelsa East Senatorial District candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dau Kenny Tekenah, has congratulated Nigerians and the people of Bayelsa State on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary and the 30th anniversary of Bayelsa State.

In a message marking the twin celebrations, Tekenah described the occasion as significant, urging citizens to reflect on the journey so far while looking ahead with renewed hope, unity and commitment to development.

Tekenah said Bayelsa’s 30 years of existence provide an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of generations of Bayelsans while renewing the commitment to building a state with greater opportunities for its people, particularly the youth.

He also called for stronger cooperation among the people of Brass, Nembe and Ogbia Local Government Areas, which make up the Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

According to him, meaningful representation requires continuous engagement, listening to constituents and working collectively to address the challenges facing communities.

Tekenah appealed for the support and partnership of the people across the three LGAs, promising to promote an inclusive approach focused on infrastructure, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, fisheries and other areas capable of improving livelihoods.

“Brass, Nembe and Ogbia are our people, our communities and our strength. I look forward to a stronger partnership with our people as we work together for a greater Bayelsa East,” he said.

On Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary, Tekenah called for peace, unity, patriotism and greater opportunities for citizens, particularly young Nigerians.

He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a more prosperous nation, stressing that the country’s diversity and human resources remain important assets for national development.

“On this special occasion of Nigeria at 66 and Bayelsa at 30, I celebrate with our people and pray for greater peace, prosperity and opportunities for all,” Tekenah said.

He wished Nigerians and Bayelsans a peaceful and memorable celebration.
