OSR Unveils Development Agenda, Promises Education, Healthcare, Infrastructure For Oredo
Hon. Osazee Richard, popularly known as OSR, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Oredo Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, has unveiled an ambitious development agenda focused on education, youth empowerment, healthcare, infrastructure, economic development and inclusive representation.
The proposed agenda, tagged Impactful Representation 2027, outlines his vision for a constituency where residents have improved access to opportunities, essential services and the benefits of effective representation.
Under the education and youth empowerment component, OSR pledged to facilitate scholarship opportunities for indigent students, bursary support, assistance with WAEC, JAMB and NECO examination fees, establishment of skills acquisition centres, digital literacy programmes and entrepreneurship grants for young people.
He noted that investing in education and practical skills would help reduce school dropout rates, equip young people with relevant competencies and create opportunities for sustainable employment and business development.
On healthcare, the ADC candidate proposed free community health outreaches, support for primary healthcare centres, maternal and child health programmes, as well as health insurance enrolment assistance for vulnerable residents.
The initiative, according to the outlined agenda, is designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to communities, reduce the financial burden of medical treatment on low-income families and improve access to quality healthcare across the constituency.
In the area of infrastructure and economic development, OSR identified road rehabilitation, improved drainage systems, erosion control, rural electrification support, market infrastructure and financial assistance for small and medium-scale enterprises as key priorities.
He believes that improved infrastructure would enhance transportation, reduce flooding, facilitate commercial activities and create a more favourable environment for businesses and investments to thrive.
The agenda also places considerable emphasis on women, vulnerable groups and participatory governance. Proposed interventions include grants and vocational training for women, welfare support for widows, assistance for persons with disabilities and regular town hall meetings to encourage direct engagement between the representative and constituents.
The town hall initiative is particularly intended to provide residents with opportunities to express their concerns, contribute to development priorities and hold their representative accountable.
Beyond the individual programmes, OSR's proposed approach emphasises the need for equitable distribution of development opportunities across the wards and communities that make up Oredo Federal Constituency.
His campaign maintains that effective representation should go beyond political promises to include purposeful engagement, responsible advocacy, strategic interventions and consistent efforts to attract federal opportunities and development projects to the constituency.
If elected, OSR says his ultimate objective is to promote a people-centred representation that prioritises education, healthcare, economic empowerment, infrastructure and the inclusion of all segments of society.
With the 2027 general election approaching, the proposed agenda presents OSR's vision of representation anchored on opportunity, accessibility, accountability and grassroots development.
He is seeking the mandate of the people of Oredo Federal Constituency to represent them in the House of Representatives under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
OSR's message is that Oredo deserves representation that translates political mandates into meaningful opportunities and tangible improvements in the lives of its people.
