Okpebholo Urges Esan South East Voters To Re-Elect Ikpea As APC Campaign Tour Draws Crowd

The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has urged voters in Esan South East Local Government Area to turn out massively in the 2027 general elections to re-elect Senator (Dr.) Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, representing Edo Central Senatorial District.

Okpebholo made the appeal during the Edo Central Interactive Campaign Tour, which covered Esan South East and Esan North East local government areas, where party leaders, supporters and residents gathered to receive the governor and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.

The campaign tour began in Ewohimi, where supporters from Wards 1 to 5 gathered to welcome the campaign train. The event also witnessed the defection of some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members, led by Kingsley Itepu Osariemen, popularly known as K19, to the APC.

The atmosphere at the campaign venue was marked by music, dancing and solidarity displays by support groups backing Ikpea. The groups, coordinated by Hon. Donald Ebhoze and Hon. Anthonia Iyangbe, entertained party leaders and supporters with songs and dance performances in support of the senator's re-election bid.

Chants such as "Ikpea We See", "Ikpea We Know", "Ikpea We Trust" and "Ikpea, Abuja Direct" featured prominently during the gathering, as supporters expressed their backing for the senator and his continued representation of Edo Central.

The campaign train subsequently moved to Ubiaja, the administrative headquarters of Esan South East Local Government Area, where supporters from Wards 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 gathered to receive the governor and the APC delegation.

At both campaign venues, party supporters reiterated their commitment to working for Ikpea's re-election, expressing confidence in his representation and political leadership.

Leaders of the APC in Esan South East, including the party's apex leader, Hon. Victor Eboigbe, and the local government party chairman, Elder Goddy Obainoke, pledged their support for the party's candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They also assured the governor of the party's continued support and mobilisation efforts across the local government area.

The campaign provided an opportunity for direct interaction between party leaders and the electorate. Those who addressed the gatherings included Governor Okpebholo, Edo State APC Chairman Jaret Emperor Tenebe, Hon. Victor Eboigbe, Elder Goddy Obainoke and the Chairman of Esan South East Local Government Council, Hon. Tega Patrick Amiegbebhor.

They thanked party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for their commitment to the APC and urged them to intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party leadership also called on supporters to work collectively towards the electoral success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ikpea, Hon. Odi Okojie and Hon. (Chief) Sunday Osezua Ojiezele.

Addressing the gatherings, Okpebholo said the impressive turnout demonstrated the APC's strength and the support it enjoys in Edo Central Senatorial District.

The governor urged party members and supporters to sustain the momentum and translate their enthusiasm into votes during the forthcoming general elections.

The interactive campaign tour forms part of the APC's engagement with stakeholders and voters across Edo Central as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
