Hon. Dr. Ethel Kabaari Aluzim, President-General of the Ogoni Amazon Initiative for Community Development, has felicitated with Nigerians at home and abroad as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Aluzim, in her Independence Day message, described the anniversary as an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the nation’s journey, celebrate the resilience of its people and renew their commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous country.
She acknowledged the challenges Nigeria has encountered over the years, noting that the strength, creativity and determination of Nigerians continue to provide hope for a better future.
According to her, Nigeria’s diversity should be regarded as a strength and an opportunity to promote greater understanding, peaceful coexistence and inclusive development across the country.
“As an Ogoni woman and proud Nigerian, I believe our diversity remains one of our greatest strengths. Let us continue to promote peace, justice, inclusion and opportunities for our young people while working together to build a nation where every citizen can live with dignity and hope,” she said.
The Ogoni Amazon Initiative leader also emphasised the importance of creating an environment where young Nigerians can access meaningful opportunities and contribute positively to national development.
She urged Nigerians to continue to uphold the values of unity, peaceful coexistence, justice and mutual respect, stressing that the progress of the country requires collective responsibility and commitment from citizens across different communities and backgrounds.
Aluzim further expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to overcome its challenges and make progress towards a more peaceful and prosperous future.
She wished Nigerians a happy Independence Anniversary and prayed for continued peace, prosperity and unity in the country.
“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria!” she added.
