NDC Women Storm Bori Main Market, Mobilise Support For Abiante, Wifa

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) women in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State have intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts, taking the party's campaign to traders at Bori Main Market in support of Rep. Awaji-Inombek Dagomie Abiante and Mrs. Blessing Pyakawa Wifa.

The sensitisation exercise, held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, was led by the Khana LGA NDC Women Leader, Nuka Sordum, who mobilised women supporters to engage traders and other market participants on the party's political agenda.
Displaying the party's two-finger symbol, the women moved around the busy market, interacting with traders and promoting Abiante's senatorial ambition for Rivers South-East under the NDC platform.

The exercise attracted attention from market traders, some of whom came out to interact with the visiting women as they moved through the market, spreading their political message and creating awareness about the party's candidates.

The outreach highlighted the importance of grassroots engagement in political campaigns, particularly through direct interaction with traders, women and other community stakeholders. Markets remain important spaces for political sensitisation, providing opportunities for campaigners to engage residents in their everyday environments.
By taking the campaign directly to Bori Main Market, the NDC women demonstrated their participation in the party's grassroots mobilisation efforts in Khana, using face-to-face engagement to promote the party and its candidates.

The exercise also underscored the role of women in political participation and community-level mobilisation as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
