Iseme Urges Nigerians To Rally Behind NDC, Defend Their Votes Ahead Of 2027 Elections

Mrs Maria Iseme Oisamoje, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Edo North, has called on Nigerians to unite behind the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging citizens to mobilise support for its candidates and remain vigilant in protecting their votes.

Iseme, in a message to Nigerians, described collective political participation as essential to the country's quest for national renewal, stressing that the responsibility of building a better Nigeria rests with the people rather than any individual candidate.

She urged Nigerians to spread the message of the NDC across their families, communities and social networks, encouraging brothers, sisters, children, friends and community members to participate actively in the political process.

According to her, the country's future depends on the willingness of citizens to make deliberate electoral choices and defend their democratic rights.

She maintained that supporting the NDC should be viewed as a collective effort towards national progress rather than a personal campaign for any individual seeking political office.

Iseme also called for greater political awareness among Nigerians, insisting that citizens must recognise the power of their votes and the importance of participating in elections.

Her message comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the NDC positioning itself as an alternative platform for Nigerians seeking a different direction for the country.

The party has named former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as its presidential candidate, with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his running mate, as it prepares to challenge other political parties in the forthcoming election.

At the state level, Iseme is among the NDC candidates preparing to contest elective positions in Edo State, where the party has unveiled its senatorial and House of Representatives candidates as part of its efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate its political structure.

Emphasising the need for collective action, Iseme urged Nigerians to look beyond individual political interests and consider the long-term implications of their electoral decisions for national development.

She also called for vigilance in the electoral process, urging voters to protect their votes through lawful and peaceful means.

Her appeal reflects the growing emphasis on voter participation, electoral accountability and the protection of democratic choices as political activities gather momentum ahead of 2027.

As the election approaches, her message is directed at Nigerians across political, social and community lines, urging them to take an active interest in determining the country's leadership and future direction.
