Ayedi Ikiyokepere Celebrates Nigeria At 66, Calls For Unity, Good Governance
Hon. Ayedi Ikiyokepere Sunny, NDC candidate for the Edo State House of Assembly representing Ovia South West Constituency, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, Sunny described Nigeria as a nation built on resilience, sacrifice, hope and an enduring belief in its potential, noting that the country’s diversity remains a source of strength and shared identity.
He acknowledged the challenges Nigeria has encountered over the years, but said the resilience of Nigerians has continued to inspire the nation’s ability to rise, rebuild and look forward with hope.
According to him, the 66th anniversary should not only be a moment to celebrate the country’s journey but also an opportunity to reflect on the responsibility of building a better Nigeria for future generations.
He called for a Nigeria where justice is respected, hard work is rewarded, young people are empowered to pursue their dreams, and citizens have access to quality education, healthcare and opportunities to improve their livelihoods.
Sunny also urged Nigerians to promote unity, integrity, service and hope, stressing that the country belongs to all its citizens.
He said, “Nigeria does not belong to a few. Nigeria belongs to all of us,” while calling on citizens to continue to believe in the country and contribute positively to its development.
The NDC candidate further prayed for peace across the country and wisdom and courage for Nigeria’s leaders as they steer the affairs of the nation.
He concluded by expressing optimism that the Nigeria of the people’s dreams can become a reality, wishing Nigerians a happy Independence Day and reaffirming his belief in the nation’s future.
“66 years and still standing. 66 years and still hoping. 66 years and still believing. God bless Nigeria,” he said.
