Gisaor Felicitates Teachers, Commends Their Role In Nation-Building
The Executive Director, Housing Finance and Account, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Abuja, Dr. Vincent Iorja Gisaor, has felicitated with teachers across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, commending them for their invaluable contributions to education, human development and nation-building.
Dr. Gisaor, in a message marking the occasion, described teachers as indispensable pillars of every society, stressing that their responsibilities extend beyond classroom instruction to include character building, mentorship, knowledge development and preparation of future generations for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
He acknowledged the dedication, patience and sacrifices of teachers, particularly those who continue to discharge their responsibilities under challenging conditions, saying their contributions deserve greater appreciation, recognition and support from governments, institutions and society.
The FHA Executive Director, who is also an academic and teacher, said his personal experience in the teaching profession has given him a deeper appreciation of the demands, responsibilities and fulfilment associated with shaping lives through education.
According to him, his journey as a teacher has strengthened his conviction that sustainable national development cannot be achieved without adequate investment in teachers and educational institutions.
He therefore commended Nigerian teachers for their resilience, commitment and unwavering service to humanity, while calling on governments, educational institutions, parents and other stakeholders to continue to support teachers and provide them with the dignity, welfare, recognition and enabling environment necessary to excel.
Dr. Gisaor noted that the impact of a teacher's work may not always be immediately visible, but generations of successful individuals remain enduring testimonies to the value and influence of the profession.
He celebrated teachers whose knowledge, guidance and sacrifices continue to transform lives and prayed God to strengthen them, reward their sacrifices and bless the work of their hands.
“Happy World Teachers’ Day to all teachers,” he said.
