CIA Media Highlights Aiguobarueghian’s Legislative Record, Outlines Priorities For Ovia Federal Constituency
The media team of Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian has highlighted his legislative experience, constituency engagement and proposed development priorities as part of its case for his representation of Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement titled “Why Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian Deserves Ovia Votes,” the CIA Media team pointed to his experience as the representative of Ovia North-East Constituency I in the Edo State House of Assembly and his position as Majority Leader, describing his record at the state level as a basis for his aspiration to represent Ovia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
According to the statement, Aiguobarueghian’s legislative record includes moving motions, sponsoring bills and participating in debates on issues affecting governance and the welfare of constituents.
The media team also cited his involvement in community activities, including ceremonies, weddings, community meetings and empowerment initiatives, as evidence of his engagement with the people he represents.
It argued that such grassroots engagement would be relevant to his proposed representation of Ovia Federal Constituency at the federal level.
On the development challenges facing the constituency, the statement identified poor road infrastructure, the neglect of riverine communities, inadequate funding for schools and youth unemployment as some of the major concerns requiring legislative attention.
The statement specifically referenced communities stretching from Iguoshodin to Okada, and from Ofunama to Udo, noting that their development needs should feature prominently in discussions about federal representation.
It added that Aiguobarueghian’s proposed priorities include addressing erosion, attracting federal projects to the constituency, facilitating employment opportunities for young people and supporting the economic empowerment of men and women.
The media team further emphasised his experience in the Edo State House of Assembly, arguing that his familiarity with legislative processes would be relevant to the responsibilities of a federal lawmaker.
According to the statement, his aspiration is anchored on translating his experience at the state level into efforts to attract development opportunities and address the concerns of constituents across Ovia Federal Constituency.
The statement also expressed concern about what it described as years of inadequate representation, urging residents to assess the records, experience and development proposals of those seeking to represent them.
It maintained that effective representation should involve active participation in legislative proceedings, regular engagement with constituents and sustained efforts to attract projects and opportunities to the constituency.
The statement concluded by reiterating Aiguobarueghian’s aspiration to represent Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
It was signed by the CIA Media team, which used the slogan, “One Good Term Deserves Promotion,” to communicate its position on his transition from the Edo State House of Assembly to the House of Representatives.
