BIBI Congratulates Idahosa On NDC Interfaith Directorate Role, Stresses Unity
Hon. Sunny Aguebor, popularly known as BIBI, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Edo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, has congratulated Archbishop Isaac Idahosa on his role as National Coordinator of the party’s Interfaith Directorate.
BIBI’s congratulatory message highlights the importance of religious understanding, peaceful coexistence and unity in a diverse country like Nigeria, where constructive engagement across faiths remains essential to national cohesion.
Idahosa, founder of God First Ministry International, is a prominent Christian cleric whose experience extends beyond religious leadership into national politics. He was the running mate to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the 2023 presidential election under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
His involvement in the NDC includes participation in the party’s reconciliation efforts. In August 2026, he was named among members of the party’s South-South subcommittee established to engage aggrieved members and address disagreements arising from the party’s primaries. The initiative formed part of efforts to strengthen internal cohesion and encourage cooperation among party members ahead of the 2027 elections.
Against this background, the Interfaith Directorate represents an important area of engagement for a political organisation operating in a religiously diverse society. Dialogue, tolerance and mutual respect can help bridge differences and encourage peaceful participation in the democratic process.
For BIBI, who is seeking to represent Edo South in the Senate, the congratulatory gesture also reflects the importance of collaboration within the party as its members prepare for the next general elections.
He wished Idahosa success in the assignment, expressing hope that his leadership would contribute to stronger relationships across religious communities and reinforce the values of unity, understanding and peaceful coexistence.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of 2027, the message underscores the place of dialogue and cooperation in building stronger party structures and fostering a more inclusive political environment.
