ALGON Ebonyi Chairman Felicitates Nwifuru, Nigerians, Ebonyians On Independence, State Creation Anniversaries
The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ebonyi State Chapter, and Executive Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Helen Nnenna Aduga, has felicitated with the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Prince Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the people of the state as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary and Ebonyi celebrates 30 years of creation.
In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the twin anniversaries, Aduga congratulated Nigerians and Ebonyians, particularly the people of Izzi Local Government Area, describing the occasions as opportunities to reflect on the journey of the nation and the state, celebrate achievements and renew commitment to peace, unity and development.
She noted that Ebonyi’s three decades of existence had been marked by growth and transformation, attributing the progress recorded over the years to the contributions of successive administrations and the resilience, industriousness and enterprise of the people.
The ALGON chairman also acknowledged the efforts of the Nwifuru administration in areas including grassroots development, human capital investment, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, as well as the welfare of citizens.
According to her, local government councils remain committed to strengthening grassroots governance as the tier of government closest to the people.
She assured that the councils would continue to collaborate with the state government in advancing the objectives of Governor Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs Agenda, with a focus on ensuring that the benefits of governance and development extend to communities, wards and households across the state.
Aduga further called for continued commitment to building a more prosperous, peaceful and united Nigeria, while praying for wisdom, courage and strength for leaders at all levels to serve the people with humility and dedication.
She wished Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and Ebonyians a happy 30th Anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi State.
“Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Long live Ebonyi State! Long live Izzi Local Government Area!” she stated.
