Aiguobarueghian’s 11th Passed Bill Highlights Legislative Capacity, Commitment To Public Safety

Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian’s legislative record, featuring 11 Bills sponsored and passed, has been presented as evidence of his legislative capacity, policy understanding and commitment to effective representation.

In a statement issued by CIA Media, Aiguobarueghian’s record was highlighted as an example of performance-driven representation at a time when legislative effectiveness is increasingly measured by tangible contributions to lawmaking and governance.

The statement described the passage of 11 Bills as a significant legislative achievement, arguing that such an accomplishment demonstrates a member’s ability to identify governance challenges, develop legislative solutions and translate policy ideas into laws.

Particular attention was drawn to his 11th Bill, titled “A Bill for a Law to Establish and Regulate the Edo State Security Corps Governance, to Ensure Effective Management of the Corps, Promote Collaboration with Agencies, Uphold Human Rights Standards, Ensure Public Safety and for Related Matters.”

According to the statement, the proposed legislation seeks to provide a legal and administrative framework for the effective establishment, management and regulation of the Edo State Security Corps.

It noted that the Bill’s provisions on establishment and regulation could help strengthen the institutional framework for community security by providing a statutory foundation for the Corps and clarifying its governance structure.

The statement further explained that the Bill’s emphasis on effective management reflects the importance of accountability, a clear chain of command and operational discipline in the administration of security institutions.

It also identified inter-agency collaboration as a key feature of the proposed legislation, noting that improved coordination among security agencies could support intelligence sharing, joint operations and a more coordinated response to security challenges.

Another significant aspect of the Bill, according to CIA Media, is its emphasis on human rights standards.

The statement maintained that security operations must respect human dignity and fundamental rights, adding that effective security governance requires a balance between public protection and the lawful treatment of citizens.

It further described public safety as a fundamental responsibility of government, arguing that a properly regulated security institution could contribute to the protection of lives and property when supported by effective oversight and responsible administration.

The statement characterised the Bill as an attempt to address legal, administrative and security concerns through a single legislative framework.

It added that Aiguobarueghian’s reported record of 11 passed Bills offers a basis for assessing his legislative contributions and commitment to lawmaking.

Looking ahead to representation at the National Assembly, CIA Media argued that Ovia Federal Constituency needs a representative with demonstrable legislative experience, policy knowledge and the ability to develop practical solutions to the challenges facing the people.

The statement concluded that Aiguobarueghian’s legislative record provides a basis for evaluating his capacity to contribute to effective representation at the federal level.

“This is capacity you can verify. This is hope you can trust,” the statement declared.
