Aiguobarueghian Promises Stronger Voice For Ovia At National Assembly

Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, a candidate for the House of Representatives for Ovia Federal Constituency, has been presented as a prospective representative who would prioritise effective legislative representation, federal projects and development opportunities for the constituency.

In a statement issued by the CIA Media, the campaign organisation said Ovia Federal Constituency needed a representative who would actively articulate its interests at the National Assembly and ensure that the area received adequate attention in federal policymaking and resource allocation.

The statement expressed concern that the constituency had allegedly not been sufficiently vocal in pursuing federal projects, appointments and intervention programmes, arguing that stronger representation was necessary to address the development needs of its people.

It described Aiguobarueghian as an experienced legislator whose tenure as Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly had exposed him to legislative debates, motions, bills and the coordination of parliamentary business.

According to the statement, his legislative experience would be valuable in the House of Representatives, where he would be expected to champion policies and initiatives capable of improving the lives of residents across Ovia Federal Constituency.

The campaign organisation identified the rehabilitation of the Benin–Okada–Owo Road, erosion control in Iguobazuwa and Okada, and the development of Gelegele Seaport as some of the key issues requiring sustained federal attention.

It also highlighted the need for federal support for riverine communities, including Ofunama and Inikorogha, as well as employment opportunities for unemployed youths across the constituency.

The statement further argued that Aiguobarueghian's legislative background could position him to seek a leadership role in the House of Representatives, potentially strengthening his capacity to influence legislative proceedings and advocate for constituency projects.

Describing the contest as an opportunity to improve Ovia's representation at the federal level, the campaign organisation urged voters to consider his legislative experience and stated commitment to effective representation.

Under the slogan, “One Good Term Deserves Promotion,” the statement called on the electorate to support Aiguobarueghian's bid for the House of Representatives.

It concluded with a renewed pledge that his representation would focus on ensuring that Ovia's interests were more forcefully articulated in national debates, federal development planning and the pursuit of opportunities for the constituency.
