Aiguobarueghian Promises People-Centred Representation For Ovia Ahead Of 2027
Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Ovia Federal Constituency in Edo State, has been presented by his media team as a candidate offering a vision of hope, progress and people-centred representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued by the CIA Media, Aiguobarueghian's campaign highlighted the need for a new approach to representation in Ovia North East and Ovia South West local government areas, with emphasis on youth empowerment, women's economic development, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure and security.
The statement said residents of Ovia deserved representation that would translate political promises into tangible improvements in their daily lives, particularly for farmers, traders, young people and families in rural communities.
It described Aiguobarueghian as a grassroots politician who understands the challenges facing ordinary residents and is committed to promoting development across the constituency.
According to the statement, his proposed development agenda includes creating opportunities for youths through skills acquisition, employment and empowerment programmes, as well as supporting women to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The campaign also identified rural road development as a priority, noting that improved road networks would enable farmers in remote communities to transport their produce to markets and benefit more from their agricultural activities.
In education and healthcare, the statement expressed the need for improved learning environments and better access to healthcare services for residents across the constituency.
It further outlined plans to promote access to clean and safe water through borehole projects, while proposing the installation of solar-powered streetlights to improve visibility, strengthen community security and support commercial activities.
On security, the campaign emphasised the importance of supporting local security initiatives to protect lives, property, farmlands and rural communities.
The statement also stressed the need for effective legislative representation at the National Assembly, saying Ovia required a stronger voice in Abuja to advance the interests and development priorities of its people.
It added that Aiguobarueghian's aspiration was driven by a desire to serve the people, restore their confidence in democratic representation and ensure that the benefits of governance reached communities across the constituency.
Calling on residents to embrace a shared vision for the future, the media team described the 2027 elections as an opportunity to reflect on the type of leadership and representation they want for their communities.
The statement concluded that a more prosperous Ovia could be achieved through collective commitment to development, inclusion and accountable representation.
