Aiguobarueghian Outlines Development Agenda For Ovia Federal Constituency
Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian has outlined a development-driven agenda focused on human capital development, education, infrastructure, economic empowerment, effective representation and peace as part of his aspiration to represent Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
A statement issued by CIA Media described Aiguobarueghian as a goal-oriented aspirant whose ambition is driven by a commitment to improving the welfare of the people and addressing the developmental challenges confronting communities across Ovia North-East and Ovia South-West Local Government Areas of Edo State.
According to the statement, his aspiration is deliberate and rooted in a desire to address underdevelopment, marginalisation and the perceived neglect of communities within the constituency.
The statement identified human capital development as one of the major pillars of his proposed agenda, with an emphasis on investing in youth skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and job creation to reduce unemployment and promote productive engagement among young people.
On education, Aiguobarueghian's agenda includes scholarship opportunities, support for schools and advocacy for improved learning facilities to enhance access to quality education for children across the constituency.
The statement also highlighted infrastructure development as a priority, noting that his proposed approach would focus on attracting federal projects and advocating for improved roads, electricity and water supply to connect communities and stimulate economic activities.
In the area of economic empowerment, the aspirant plans to prioritise support for women, farmers, traders and small business owners through empowerment initiatives and start-up grants aimed at strengthening livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities.
The statement further stressed the importance of effective legislative representation, expressing the need for a representative who would articulate the interests of Ovia people, advocate for their needs and ensure that the constituency's concerns receive adequate attention at the National Assembly.
Peace, unity and cooperation between Ovia North-East and Ovia South-West were also identified as essential to achieving sustainable development, with the statement emphasising the importance of collective efforts in advancing the interests of the constituency.
Reaffirming the message behind his aspiration, the statement declared that Aiguobarueghian was seeking office not merely to occupy a seat but to make the constituency's voice count and work towards restoring its developmental prospects.
The statement called on the people of Ovia Federal Constituency to support Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian's aspiration under the platform of the New Democratic Congress (NDC), promoting the message: “One Good Term Deserves Promotion.”
