Aiguobarueghian Campaigns on Track Record, Promises Practical Representation For Ovia
Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ovia Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, has been presented as a credible choice for improved legislative representation, with emphasis on lawmaking, attracting federal projects and empowering constituents.
In a statement issued by CIA Media, the campaign stressed the need for Ovia Federal Constituency to move beyond what it described as ceremonial representation to a more practical and result-oriented approach that prioritises the needs and development of the people.
The statement argued that effective representation should go beyond the distribution of relief materials during election periods and social media publicity, insisting that the core responsibilities of a legislator include sponsoring people-oriented bills, lobbying for development projects and implementing initiatives that improve the welfare of constituents.
It highlighted Aiguobarueghian's experience as a former Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, describing his legislative background as an advantage in pursuing policies and motions that address the concerns of the constituency.
According to the statement, his experience in the state legislature has equipped him with an understanding of legislative procedures and the skills required to advance issues of public importance.
On attracting federal projects, the campaign expressed confidence in his ability to engage relevant institutions and stakeholders to secure development opportunities for Ovia, particularly communities it described as having been neglected over the years.
The statement also cited his record as a former lawmaker representing Ovia North-East Constituency I in the Edo State House of Assembly, claiming that he empowered youths and women, supported students through bursaries, assisted farmers and facilitated school renovations.
It further noted that his participation in community activities reflected his commitment to maintaining close ties with constituents beyond election periods.
Highlighting the geographical spread and developmental needs of Ovia Federal Constituency, the campaign referenced communities and areas including Okada, Udo, Iguobazuwa, Siluko, Adolor and Ofunama, arguing that the constituency requires an accessible representative with the experience and capacity to address its challenges.
The campaign maintained that Aiguobarueghian's legislative experience and record of community engagement make him a suitable candidate to represent the constituency at the federal level.
Describing the forthcoming election as an opportunity for voters to demand accountability and measurable results, CIA Media urged the electorate to support what it termed a shift towards practical and people-centred representation.
The statement concluded with a call on voters to elect Aiguobarueghian into the House of Representatives on the platform of the National Democratic Congress, under the campaign slogan, “One Good Term Deserves Promotion.”
