2027: APC's Eseigbe Pledges Youth Empowerment, Infrastructure Development For Esan Federal Constituency
Sir Lucky Eseigbe, Esq., the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency, has pledged to prioritise youth empowerment, infrastructure development, education, healthcare and agricultural development if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.
Eseigbe said his vision was to build a prosperous and developed constituency through effective legislation, quality representation and people-oriented policies capable of addressing the developmental challenges facing the three local government areas.
He stressed that his proposed representation would focus on creating opportunities for young people, attracting federal projects to underserved communities, improving access to essential social services and strengthening the economic potential of Esanland.
According to him, effective representation must go beyond occupying a seat in the National Assembly to delivering tangible benefits that improve the lives of constituents.
On youth unemployment, the APC flag bearer pledged to promote skills acquisition, vocational training, entrepreneurship and access to business funding as practical measures to empower young people and create sustainable economic opportunities.
He explained that equipping youths with relevant skills and supporting their entrepreneurial ambitions would help them become economically independent, reduce unemployment and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
Eseigbe also identified infrastructure development as a critical component of his proposed legislative agenda, promising to lobby for federal projects targeting rural roads, electricity, potable water and other essential amenities across Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben.
He noted that improved infrastructure would facilitate economic activities, ease transportation challenges, enhance access to public services and improve the quality of life in rural communities that have long needed greater development attention.
On education and healthcare, Eseigbe pledged to facilitate scholarship opportunities, vocational training programmes, improved healthcare facilities and support initiatives for vulnerable households.
He maintained that access to quality education and affordable healthcare remained essential to human capital development, adding that investment in these sectors would help create a healthier, better-educated and more productive population.
The APC candidate further identified agriculture as a major economic sector requiring deliberate legislative support to improve productivity and strengthen rural livelihoods.
He said he would advocate affordable agricultural financing, access to modern farming equipment, improved storage facilities, agro-processing and better markets for agricultural produce.
According to him, these interventions would help farmers increase productivity, minimise post-harvest losses, improve their earnings and create additional employment opportunities along the agricultural value chain.
Eseigbe also acknowledged the need to strengthen the relationship between elected representatives and the people they serve, pledging to promote regular town hall meetings, open communication and periodic reports on his legislative activities and constituency projects.
He said transparency, accountability and continuous engagement with constituents would be important elements of his proposed representation.
The federal constituency hopeful maintained that the people deserved a representative who would listen to their concerns, communicate legislative developments and work to ensure that public resources and constituency interventions deliver meaningful benefits.
Highlighting what he described as the distinguishing features of his proposed agenda, Eseigbe pointed to his experience in legislative and public service, which he said would guide his approach to representation and development.
He identified youth empowerment, federal infrastructure projects, and improved access to education and healthcare as key priorities he would pursue within his first two years in the House of Representatives if elected.
He also emphasised the importance of extending development initiatives across the constituency's 30 wards to ensure that the benefits of representation are not concentrated in a few communities.
For residents of Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben, the proposed agenda places employment, rural development, social welfare and economic opportunities at the centre of the 2027 political conversation.
As the election approaches, the extent to which candidates translate their promises into practical legislative proposals, effective advocacy and measurable development outcomes is likely to remain a key consideration for voters.
Eseigbe's stated priorities reflect his commitment to pursuing a people-centred approach to representation, with an emphasis on empowering the youth, supporting farmers, attracting federal interventions and promoting accountable leadership across the constituency.
