World Pharmacists Day: BIBI Applauds Pharmacists, Calls For Stronger Healthcare System
Hon. Sunny “BIBI” Aguebor, NDC candidate for Edo South Senatorial District, has commended pharmacists across Nigeria for their dedication to healthcare delivery and their contribution to the wellbeing of citizens.
BIBI, in a message marking World Pharmacists Day, described pharmacists as an important part of the healthcare system, noting their role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines and providing professional guidance to patients.
He acknowledged the commitment of pharmacists who continue to serve communities despite the challenges confronting the country's healthcare sector.
According to him, access to quality medicines and professional pharmaceutical services remains essential to improving health outcomes and strengthening public confidence in the healthcare system.
BIBI also called for greater investment in healthcare, particularly measures that would make essential medicines and quality pharmaceutical care more accessible and affordable to Nigerians.
He commended pharmacists for their professionalism and service to humanity, while urging stakeholders in the health sector to continue working towards a healthcare system that places the wellbeing of citizens at its centre.
“On this World Pharmacists Day, I celebrate pharmacists for their dedication, professionalism and contribution to saving lives. Their work goes beyond dispensing medicines; they educate, advise and support patients and other healthcare professionals.
“We must continue to build a healthcare system where every Nigerian can have access to quality medicines, professional pharmaceutical care and affordable healthcare services.
“I salute all pharmacists, particularly those serving our communities in Edo South and across Nigeria, for their invaluable service to humanity,” BIBI said.
He wished pharmacists across the country a happy World Pharmacists Day and reaffirmed the importance of recognising and supporting professionals whose work contributes directly to the health and wellbeing of the people.
