Lulu-Briggs Charges 23 LGA Chiefs: ‘Rivers Must Be Rescued, Reset’

Dumo Lulu-Briggs has charged party leaders across Rivers State to unite, mobilise the grassroots and remain “rescue ready” as the party begins its 2027 governorship and House of Assembly campaigns.

Lulu-Briggs gave the charge after meeting with the party’s 23 Local Government Area (LGA) party chiefs at the state secretariat on Tuesday, ahead of the official campaign kickoff on Wednesday.

Describing the meeting as strategic and focused, he said the party was prepared to take its message of “Rescue and Recovery” to every part of the state.

“Our intent is clear: Pursue, Overtake and Recover all that we have lost to self-centeredness,” he said.

Lulu-Briggs told the LGA leaders that the task ahead required sacrifice, commitment and determination, stressing that they had a major role to play in shaping the political future of Rivers State.

He said the leaders were “the custodians of this mission” and must be prepared to put in the work required to deliver victory.

“The road will not be easy. Yet, we must remember that there is no challenge we cannot handle or overcome when we vehemently refuse to remain complacent with the crumbs that fall from the tables of those who have turned themselves into slave masters over us,” he said.

According to him, the 2027 election is about more than party logos and candidates, as the future of the people and the development of Rivers State are at stake.

“Beyond the Party logo and the candidates, what is truly on the ballot is the soul of every Nigerian, the future of Rivers State, our prosperity as a people, affordable and quality education, comfortable accommodation, and accessible, quality healthcare,” Lulu-Briggs said.

He consequently urged the party leaders to take the message of rescue and recovery to the “nooks and crannies” of Rivers State, insisting that grassroots mobilisation would be critical to the party’s success.

Lulu-Briggs further called for unity, focus and intentionality among party members, saying the sacrifices made during the political journey would ultimately make the victory worthwhile.

“I charged them further to remain focused, united and rescue ready to RESET Rivers State,” he added.

As the campaign officially gets underway, Lulu-Briggs expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness, declaring: “The task is great. The mission is clear. The people are ready.”
