Gisaor Reaffirms Commitment To Revive FHA Estate In Makurdi
The Executive Director, Housing Finance and Account, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Dr. Vincent Iorja Gisaor, has reaffirmed his commitment to reviving the Federal Housing Authority Estate at North Bank in Makurdi, Benue State.
Gisaor made the commitment when he received the former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Dave Iorhemba, during a visit to his office at the FHA Headquarters in Abuja.
The Executive Director said the Makurdi FHA Estate was currently in a state of disrepair and required urgent intervention to restore it to its intended purpose.
He disclosed that a recent inspection of the estate revealed significant deterioration of critical infrastructure, including roads, buildings and other facilities.
Gisaor also revealed that investigations had uncovered cases of encroachment on portions of the estate by some indigenes. He therefore sought the support and collaboration of the former Speaker in addressing the issue and facilitating the Authority's unhindered access to the estate for effective rehabilitation and development.
According to him, the planned revival of the Makurdi estate is part of his broader commitment to ensuring that FHA facilities across the country are properly maintained and effectively utilised to provide decent and affordable housing for Nigerians.
Responding, Iorhemba expressed delight over Gisaor's appointment as Executive Director, describing it as a well-considered decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former Speaker urged Gisaor to remain prudent, transparent and accountable in the discharge of his statutory responsibilities.
He congratulated the FHA Executive Director on his appointment and prayed for God's wisdom, strength and guidance as he takes on what he described as a challenging responsibility.
Iorhemba also pledged his support and cooperation whenever the Federal Housing Authority is ready to commence rehabilitation and other interventions at the Makurdi FHA Estate.
