Benue Links Announces Slight Increase In Interstate Transport Fares From September 15

Benue Links Nigeria Limited has announced a slight increase in transport fares on routes from Makurdi to other states, citing the recent increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

The company, in a statement issued by its management, said the price of petrol had risen from ₦1,350 to ₦1,415 per litre, making the fare adjustment necessary to sustain its operations.

According to the statement, the new fares will take effect from Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and will particularly affect interstate routes originating from Makurdi.

It, however, clarified that fares on routes within Benue State would remain unchanged for now, as the company continues to monitor developments and assess the impact of rising transportation costs.

Benue Links said the adjustment was necessary to enable it to continue providing comfortable, safe, reliable and affordable transport services to passengers, in line with the masses-oriented transport policy of the Governor Hyacinth Alia administration.

The management appealed to passengers for their understanding and cooperation, while apologising for any inconvenience the fare adjustment may cause.

It also expressed appreciation to its passengers for their continued patronage and support.
