Ovia 2027: Aiguobarueghian Declared Ready for House of Representatives Race
A political movement is gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election as Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, the lawmaker representing Ovia North East Constituency I in the Edo State House of Assembly, has been presented as a candidate with the experience and track record to represent Ovia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Supporters of the lawmaker, under the banner of the Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian Media Team, described his proposed move to the Green Chamber as a natural progression from his achievements at the state level, insisting that his record of service has earned him the confidence of the people.
They said Hon. Charity’s tenure in the Edo State House of Assembly has been marked by interventions in education, rural development, community infrastructure and support for local businesses.
According to the campaign team, the lawmaker has championed the rehabilitation and equipping of schools, facilitated rural road grading to improve access for farmers and traders, supported the installation of streetlights in communities, and advocated for market women and small-scale entrepreneurs.
The group noted that his experience in legislative representation would position him to effectively advocate for Ovia North-East and Ovia South-West at the federal level.
“Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian represents a new chapter of purposeful representation for Ovia. His mission is to provide a strong voice in Abuja, attract federal projects, support development initiatives and ensure that the concerns of the people are properly represented,” the statement said.
The campaign highlighted key areas of focus, including youth empowerment through skills acquisition, ICT development, job creation initiatives and entrepreneurship support.
It also promised stronger advocacy for agriculture, improved support for small businesses, better road networks, rural electrification, access to clean water, quality education and improved healthcare facilities across the constituency.
The group further pledged that, if elected, Hon. Charity would maintain an open and accountable representation through a functional constituency office where residents can engage directly with their representative.
“Ovia deserves representation that listens, shows up and delivers. This is the time to choose capacity, character and results,” the campaign team stated.
Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian is seeking election to the House of Representatives for Ovia Federal Constituency in 2027 under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
