NDC Presents Asemota As Edo South Senatorial Candidate, Reaffirms Omoruyi For Ikpoba-Okha/Egor

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Edo State has officially presented its candidates for the forthcoming general elections, with Comrade (Mrs) OSAYUKI EPELLE ASEMOTA emerging as the party’s candidate for the Edo South Senatorial District.

The presentation, which marked a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the elections, was characterised by enthusiasm and renewed calls for unity, effective representation and purposeful leadership across the state.

The party described Comrade (Mrs) OSAYUKI EPELLE ASEMOTA as a credible and experienced candidate capable of providing quality representation to the people of Edo South at the National Assembly.

Her emergence further reinforces the NDC’s earlier position that she remains the party’s duly recognised candidate for the Edo South Senatorial District, following the conclusion of its nomination process.

The party said her extensive experience, commitment to public service and dedication to the ideals of the NDC make her well suited to represent the interests and aspirations of the people of Edo South.

Also presented was the incumbent member representing the Ikpoba-Okha/Egor Federal Constituency, Hon. Murphy Osaro Omoruyi, who will contest the House of Representatives seat on the platform of the NDC.

The party reaffirmed its confidence in Omoruyi, citing his experience, commitment and record of representation as reasons for supporting his return to the National Assembly.

According to the NDC, the decision to field experienced candidates reflects its determination to present individuals capable of articulating the needs of their constituents and contributing meaningfully to legislative development.

As part of its preparations for the elections, the party has also constituted a campaign strategy committee charged with developing a comprehensive campaign timetable and coordinating its mobilisation and engagement activities across the state.

The committee is expected to work towards ensuring effective communication of the party’s programmes, policies and vision while strengthening engagement with voters and party supporters ahead of the general elections.

The NDC called on its members, supporters and stakeholders to remain united and committed to the party’s electoral objectives, stressing the importance of collective effort in achieving victory at the polls.

The party congratulated all its candidates and urged them to remain focused on the principles of service, accountability and people-centred leadership as the political process progresses.

With the formal presentation of its candidates, the NDC said it was poised to commence a broader engagement with the electorate, seeking the support of the people through a campaign centred on development, effective representation and a better future for Edo State.

The party further urged its supporters to rally behind the candidates and work collectively towards securing victory for the NDC in the forthcoming elections.
