Diri Hails Akpe’s Acceptance, Capacity, Humility As Ebedebiri Honours Deputy

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has hailed the acceptance, capacity, humility and loyalty of the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, as the Ebedebiri Federated Community in Sagbama Local Government Area hosted a reception in his honour.

Governor Diri was at Ebedebiri Federated Community on Monday afternoon to grace the well-attended reception organised by the community to celebrate and honour its illustrious son, who is currently serving as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

The reception attracted distinguished guests, community leaders, sons and daughters of Ebedebiri, friends and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate Dr. Akpe and identify with his accomplishments and service to the state.

The Governor said the impressive turnout at the reception was a clear demonstration of the fact that the Deputy Governor is accepted, respected and loved by his people.

According to Governor Diri, Dr. Akpe has continued to distinguish himself through his capacity, humility and loyalty, qualities which have contributed to the goodwill he enjoys among the people.

The Governor congratulated the people of Ebedebiri Federated Community for organising the reception in honour of their son, describing the occasion as a worthy celebration of one of their own who is contributing to the development and service of Bayelsa State.

He also expressed appreciation to the distinguished guests and other well-wishers who honoured the community’s invitation and joined the people of Ebedebiri in celebrating the Deputy Governor.

Governor Diri noted that the gathering further demonstrated the strong bond between Dr. Akpe and his community, while commending the people of Ebedebiri for the warm reception accorded their son.

He concluded by congratulating the people of Ebedebiri on the successful reception and celebrating the occasion with the traditional expression, “Nua! Umbana!”
