Delta NDC Youth Coordinator Calls for Massive Support For Peter Obi, Ominimini Obiuwevbi Ahead Of 2027 Polls
The Delta State Coordinator of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing, Comrade Adaighofua Eric Oghenedoro, has called on Nigerians, particularly the people of Delta State and the nation's youth, to give overwhelming support to the party's presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and the NDC candidate for the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, Chief Sir (Dr.) Ominimini Christopher Obiuwevbi, Ph.D., in the 2027 general elections.
Oghenedoro described both candidates as visionary leaders with proven records of service, competence, integrity, and commitment to nation-building, saying they possess the capacity to deliver the transformational leadership Nigerians have long desired.
According to him, the Nigeria Democratic Congress was founded on the principles of productive governance, accountability, youth inclusion, economic prosperity, and national unity, adding that Peter Obi and Chief Ominimini perfectly represent those ideals.
Speaking on the party's presidential candidate, Oghenedoro said Peter Obi has earned the confidence of millions of Nigerians through his disciplined approach to governance, prudent management of public resources, and unwavering advocacy for education, industrialisation, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and human capital development.
He noted that Obi's emergence as the ratified presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his running mate, has further strengthened the party's resolve to offer Nigerians a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.
"Peter Obi has consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service, accountability, and putting the people first. His vision of moving Nigeria from a consumption-based economy to a productive economy resonates with the aspirations of millions of Nigerians, especially the youth who desire jobs, security, quality education, and economic opportunities," Oghenedoro stated.
The Delta NDC Youth Coordinator also threw his weight behind Chief Sir (Dr.) Ominimini Christopher Obiuwevbi, describing him as a seasoned administrator, respected political strategist, and grassroots mobiliser whose years of public service have prepared him for effective representation in the National Assembly.
He said Dr. Ominimini's wealth of experience in governance, legislative affairs, community development, and advocacy for the Niger Delta positions him to provide purposeful representation for the people of Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency.
According to Oghenedoro, the NDC House of Representatives candidate has consistently championed the cause of development, equity, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance throughout his public service career.
He expressed confidence that Dr. Ominimini's experience, accessibility, and understanding of the needs of the constituency would translate into quality legislation, effective oversight, and the attraction of meaningful developmental projects.
The Delta Youth Coordinator further urged party faithful and supporters across the state to intensify grassroots mobilisation by taking the message of the NDC to every ward, polling unit, and community.
He stressed that the youth must take ownership of the political process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), participating actively in voter education, and engaging in peaceful, issue-based campaigns.
"The future belongs to those who participate. Our generation cannot afford to remain on the sidelines while others decide our future. We must support leaders who have demonstrated competence, integrity, and genuine concern for the welfare of the people."
Oghenedoro maintained that the Nigeria Democratic Congress is determined to build a nation driven by productivity rather than dependency, where education, innovation, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and industrial development become the pillars of economic growth.
"I therefore call on all Nigerians, especially our youths, women, traditional institutions, community leaders, and party supporters to stand firmly behind Mr. Peter Obi and Chief Sir (Dr.) Ominimini Christopher Obiuwevbi. Together, they represent a new generation of leadership capable of restoring hope, strengthening our democracy, and delivering the transformation our nation and our constituency deserve," he said.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Delta State NDC Youth Wing to continue mobilising young people across the state, strengthening grassroots structures, promoting issue-based politics, and ensuring the party's vision of service, productivity, accountability, and national renewal reaches every community ahead of the 2027 general elections.
