Wisdom Ikuli Applauds Diri, Akpe As He Celebrates Appointment Into Bayelsa Anniversary Committee

Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli, has expressed appreciation to Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Pastor (Hon.) Peter Akpe, Ph.D., following his appointment as a member of the Publicity Sub-committee for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the creation of Bayelsa State.

Ikuli, in a statement on Thursday, described the appointment as a rare privilege and an opportunity to contribute to the success of the historic celebration, while commending the leadership qualities of Governor Diri and his deputy.

He said he was filled with joy after receiving an invitation for an important meeting with the Deputy Governor at the Creek Haven Government House, Yenagoa, only to be informed that the Governor had graciously appointed him to serve on the anniversary committee.

The media aide described Pastor Akpe as a remarkable leader whose background as a pastor and former lawmaker in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has shaped his commitment to service, humility, and positive engagement with the people.

According to him, the accessibility and compassionate disposition of both Governor Diri and Deputy Governor Akpe reflect the qualities of leaders who genuinely care for the people, adding that their approach to leadership remains inspiring.

Ikuli noted that he was among the youngest members of the committee, alongside other distinguished Bayelsans, and expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him to serve with the team.

He used the occasion to encourage young people to remain dedicated, loyal, and committed to service, stressing that sacrifices made in the course of meaningful contributions are often recognised and rewarded at the appropriate time.

“Do not go for money; go for service delivery and good results. At the end, your results and positive impacts shall bring the money and reward,” he advised.

Ikuli also reaffirmed his appreciation to Governor Douye Diri for his support and commitment to his welfare, while acknowledging Deputy Governor Peter Akpe as a source of inspiration through his life of service to God and humanity.

He prayed for continued blessings upon all those who have contributed positively to his growth and development.
