Nwedu Commends Governor Nwifuru For Completing Internal Roads At EBSU Permanent Site
Hon. Nwedu Abraham Nwedu, a member of the Ebonyi State Board of Internal Revenue (EBSIRS), has praised the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Prnc. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for the completion and commissioning of the internal road network at the Ebonyi State University (EBSU) Permanent Site, describing the project as another milestone in the administration's commitment to revitalising education infrastructure.
In a statement made available to journalists, Nwedu said the newly completed road network has transformed mobility within the university community, bringing lasting relief to students, lecturers, administrative staff, and visitors who had for years contended with poor access roads, particularly during the rainy season.
According to him, the project reflects Governor Nwifuru's understanding that quality education must be supported by modern infrastructure capable of creating a conducive environment for teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
He noted that the internal roads now provide seamless access to faculties, lecture halls, hostels, administrative buildings, and other key facilities within the university, while enhancing safety, improving vehicular movement, and ensuring quicker access for emergency services.
Nwedu added that the improved road network has eliminated many of the challenges previously associated with movement across the campus, thereby creating a more comfortable and productive academic environment for both students and staff.
He observed that the project would contribute significantly to academic activities by reducing travel time within the institution and improving overall campus accessibility.
The EBSIRS board member further stated that the intervention is another demonstration of Governor Nwifuru's commitment to strengthening the education sector through the People's Charter of Needs agenda, which prioritises investments in infrastructure, human capital development, and institutional growth.
According to Nwedu, the governor's sustained investments in Ebonyi State University have continued to restore confidence in the institution and position it as a centre of academic excellence capable of competing with leading universities across the country.
He described Governor Nwifuru as a visionary leader who understands that investing in education is an investment in the future of the state, adding that the administration's achievements continue to improve the quality of life of Ebonyians.
Nwedu prayed for God's continued wisdom, strength, and good health for Governor Nwifuru as he continues to implement transformative policies and projects aimed at advancing education and accelerating the development of Ebonyi State.
