NDC's Ikponmwosa Idelegbagbon Unveils People-Centred Agenda For Orhionmwon East

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Orhionmwon East Constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Ikponmwosa Idelegbagbon, has unveiled a people-centred legislative agenda aimed at addressing the developmental needs of the constituency through accountable representation, grassroots empowerment, and sustainable economic growth.

The NDC flag bearer said his aspiration is driven by a desire to provide effective representation that reflects the yearnings and aspirations of the people, particularly those in rural communities that have long grappled with inadequate infrastructure and limited access to essential public services.

According to him, his vision for Orhionmwon East is anchored on legislative accountability, inclusive governance, and policies that directly improve the lives of farmers, traders, youths, women, and other vulnerable groups across the constituency.

Hon. Idelegbagbon noted that agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy and pledged to champion legislation that would support farmers through improved access to modern farming equipment, processing facilities, storage infrastructure, and other initiatives capable of increasing productivity while reducing post-harvest losses.

He also stressed the need for improved road infrastructure to connect farming communities with commercial centres, describing rural road rehabilitation as essential to economic development and food security.

The NDC candidate further pledged to advocate for better healthcare delivery by supporting the establishment and upgrading of primary healthcare centres, expanding access to clean drinking water, and improving public schools to provide quality education for children across the constituency.

Speaking on his political philosophy, Idelegbagbon said leadership should be people-driven, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the electorate rather than serving the interests of a privileged few.

He maintained that the emergence of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has provided the people of Orhionmwon East with a credible alternative capable of strengthening democratic participation and promoting responsible legislative oversight.

The lawmaker hopeful also commended residents for their active participation in the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, describing the massive turnout as a demonstration of the people's commitment to democracy and their determination to shape the future of the constituency through the ballot.

He encouraged residents to remain united, peaceful, and actively engaged in the democratic process, assuring them that their collective support would pave the way for effective representation and sustainable development.

Hon. Idelegbagbon reaffirmed his commitment to building a constituency where government policies translate into tangible improvements in agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

He expressed confidence that, with the support of the people, Orhionmwon East can usher in a new era of responsive leadership, inclusive development, and shared prosperity.

The NDC candidate concluded by calling on residents to continue believing in the vision of a stronger and more progressive Orhionmwon East, founded on accountability, unity, and people-centred governance.
