Labour Party Targets Stronger National Presence Ahead Of 2027 ----- Eloka

The Labour Party (LP) says it is strategically positioning itself for a stronger performance in the 2027 general elections through expanded grassroots mobilisation, wider national representation and an intensified membership drive.

A member of the party's National Steering Committee, Evangelist (Hon.) Chinedu Jude Eloka, made this known in a statement, describing the party's current leadership as instrumental in repositioning the LP for greater electoral success.

According to Eloka, the Labour Party has learnt valuable lessons from the 2023 general elections, during which it achieved significant national recognition but fell short of attaining broader electoral victories due to what he described as limited organisational spread in parts of Northern Nigeria.

He argued that the party's 2023 campaign was largely concentrated in the South, resulting in an imbalance in political representation and limiting its electoral gains in the northern region.

Eloka, however, said the party has since embarked on extensive restructuring under the leadership of Dr. Alex Otti and Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, whom he credited with strengthening the party's internal structures and expanding its national reach.

He stated that the Labour Party has significantly increased its presence across the country and is preparing to field candidates for various elective positions in the 2027 general elections. According to him, the party has also deepened its grassroots engagement through wider participation in state and local political structures.

The LP chieftain expressed confidence that the party would record improved electoral performance in 2027, particularly in the South-East, where he said Governor Alex Otti's leadership in Abia State has further strengthened the party's popularity.

He also maintained that the party's growing acceptance in Northern Nigeria would enhance its national spread and improve its chances of success at the polls.

Eloka described the Labour Party as a patriotic platform committed to democratic growth, national development and inclusive governance, stressing that its focus remains on providing Nigerians with a credible political alternative.

He called on Nigerians, especially eligible voters, to register with the Labour Party, participate in its ongoing membership registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed optimism that with sustained mobilisation, internal unity and nationwide participation, the Labour Party would emerge as a formidable contender in the 2027 electoral contest.
