Labour Party Poised For Stronger 2027 Showing Under Nenadi Usman's Leadership – Eloka

A member of the National Steering Committee of the Labour Party (LP), Evangelist (Hon.) Chinedu Jude Eloka, has expressed confidence that the party is on course for a stronger performance in the 2027 general elections, attributing the renewed optimism to the leadership of Senator Nenadi Esther Usman.

In a statement, Eloka described Senator Usman's emergence as Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party as a turning point in the party's history. He said her appointment, championed by the party's leadership following the expiration of the tenure of former National Chairman Julius Abure, restored stability, unity, and confidence within the party.

According to him, the intervention of the party's statutory organs, including the National Executive Council (NEC), the Board of Trustees (BoT), alongside the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), helped preserve internal democracy and strengthen the party's commitment to the rule of law and constitutional order.

Eloka praised Senator Usman's leadership credentials, describing her as an experienced administrator with a distinguished record in public service. He noted that her previous roles as Minister of State for Finance, Minister of Finance, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and her position as the first woman to lead the Labour Party nationally have positioned her to consolidate the party's gains ahead of the next general election.

He further credited the party's national leadership, state executives, working committees, statutory delegates, stakeholders, and members for sustaining the Labour Party's visibility and expanding its national reach. According to him, the party remains one of Nigeria's foremost political platforms and is well-positioned to compete effectively in 2027.

Eloka also reaffirmed the Labour Party's commitment to constructive opposition, democratic governance, and issue-based politics. He stressed that the party would continue to uphold the rule of law, respect electoral regulations, and seek judicial redress whenever necessary in defence of democracy.

While advocating greater national unity and inclusive governance, he said the Labour Party remains committed to advancing policies that promote national development, cohesion, and democratic growth.

The National Steering Committee member commended the leadership of the Governor of Abia State and National Leader of the Labour Party, Dr. Alex Otti, for providing direction and inspiring confidence within the party.

He called on Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing Labour Party membership registration exercise and urged eligible citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Eloka concluded by expressing optimism that the Labour Party would continue to grow stronger and remain a formidable force in Nigeria's democratic landscape.

He also prayed for God's blessings upon the Labour Party and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
