FCT Women Declare Support For Ado-Iliyasu's 2027 Senate Bid, Rally Behind People-Centred Agenda

A women-led support group under the banner "Ado Is OK 4 FCT Women Support Group 2027" has declared its support for the senatorial ambition of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Ibrahim Ado Iliyasu, describing him as a leader committed to inclusive governance and grassroots development.

The group, which drew supporters from across the FCT, including Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Bwari, and the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), expressed confidence in Dr. Iliyasu's ability to provide effective representation and champion policies that will improve the lives of residents.

In a statement, members of the group said they were mobilising support across communities, urging women and other eligible voters to back Dr. Iliyasu in the 2027 general elections.

The supporters described the NDC candidate as a grassroots leader who understands the needs of ordinary people and has consistently advocated for equitable development across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to taking the campaign to homes, streets, markets, and communities throughout the FCT, with the aim of expanding public awareness of his vision for people-centred leadership.

Dr. Iliyasu, a Chartered Arbitrator (MCArb.), Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (FICMC), FCT Director of the International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS), and human rights advocate, has repeatedly stated that his senatorial ambition is driven by service, integrity, and accountability.

His campaign is built around improving healthcare, empowering women and young people, expanding rural infrastructure, attracting investment, promoting education, protecting vulnerable groups, and ensuring equitable representation for all communities across the FCT.

The FCT Senate candidate has also maintained his advocacy for greater inclusion of Abuja South in the political leadership of the territory, arguing that balanced representation would promote unity and accelerate development across the six Area Councils.

As political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gain momentum, supporters of Dr. Iliyasu say they remain committed to mobilising grassroots support for what they describe as a vision of inclusive governance, sustainable development, and a better future for the Federal Capital Territory.
