Dr. Ibrahim Ado Unveils People-Centred Vision For FCT Senate 2027, Prioritises Healthcare, Youth and Women Empowerment
Presenting his vision under the theme, "A New Era. A New Voice. A Better Future," Dr. Iliyasu said the time has come for a new generation of leadership driven by integrity, accountability, and measurable results.
He stated that his aspiration is anchored on building an FCT where every community has a voice, every citizen has equal opportunities, and governance delivers meaningful development to the people.
According to him, quality healthcare remains a fundamental right of every citizen. He pledged to advocate for stronger primary healthcare services, improved maternal and child healthcare, better-equipped hospitals, and affordable medical services that are accessible to residents across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
Dr. Iliyasu also promised to champion policies that protect vulnerable persons through expanded social support programmes, improved access to healthcare and education, and increased economic opportunities aimed at ensuring that no one is left behind.
On women empowerment, the Senate hopeful said empowering women is essential to building stronger families and prosperous communities. He pledged to support initiatives that promote quality education, entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, healthcare, and equal opportunities for women throughout the FCT.
Highlighting the importance of caring for senior citizens, Dr. Iliyasu stressed that the elderly deserve dignity, respect, and adequate social protection. He said he would advocate for improved healthcare services and welfare programmes that enhance their quality of life.
The aspiring lawmaker also identified youth development as one of the cornerstones of his agenda, promising to promote quality education, vocational training, innovation, entrepreneurship, sports development, and job creation to unlock the immense potential of young people.
Reiterating his message of hope and unity, Dr. Iliyasu called on residents of the FCT to join him in building a future defined by progress, inclusiveness, and shared prosperity.
"Our vision is simple: a stronger, more united FCT where opportunities are available to all, governance is accountable, and development reaches every community," he said.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serving the people with dedication and integrity, expressing confidence that, together, the people of the FCT can usher in a new era of sustainable growth and development.
