Diri Reaffirms Commitment To Timely Completion Of Key Infrastructure Projects In Bayelsa
Governor Douye Diri has reaffirmed the Bayelsa State Government's unwavering commitment to the timely completion of major infrastructure projects aimed at accelerating development and improving the living standards of residents.
Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Friday, inspected four major ongoing infrastructure projects within Yenagoa, the state capital, despite a heavy downpour, reiterating his administration's determination to deliver the projects on schedule.
The projects inspected include the iconic nine-storey State Secretariat Complex, the Bayelsa State Independent Power Plant, Glory Drive Phase 3, and the 30,000-capacity Olympic-standard stadium.
Speaking after the inspection, Governor Diri expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the projects, particularly the secretariat complex, Glory Drive Phase 3, and the new stadium, describing the progress as remarkable.
According to the governor, the projects are strategic investments that will strengthen public service delivery, improve infrastructure, boost economic activities, and enhance the overall development of Bayelsa State.
"Today, we defied the heavy downpour to visit the site of four ongoing projects within Yenagoa, the state capital. The progress recorded at the secretariat complex, the Glory Drive Phase 3, and the new stadium is remarkable, and the commitment of our government to their timely completion remains unshakable," Governor Diri said.
The governor also disclosed that he received a briefing on ongoing efforts to evacuate power generated from the state's gas turbines to additional parts of Yenagoa, a development he said would significantly improve electricity distribution across the state capital.
"I was equally briefed about the evacuation of power from the gas turbines to more areas of the state capital, an indication of improved electricity distribution in the state," he added.
Governor Diri reaffirmed that his administration remains focused on delivering impactful projects that will drive sustainable development, enhance economic growth, and improve the quality of life of the people of Bayelsa State.
