Delta Government To Commence Rehabilitation Of ECN/Otu-Jeremi/Udu Road

The Delta State Government has finalized arrangements for the commencement of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the ECN/Otu-Jeremi/Udu Road, reaffirming its commitment to improving road infrastructure across the state.

The Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, made this known during a meeting with officials of Niger Cat Construction Limited and representatives of the host communities.

According to the Commissioner, the engagement was organized to ensure the smooth and successful execution of the project through sustained collaboration among the state government, the contractor, and the affected communities.

Comrade Izeze charged the contractor to deliver the project within the stipulated timeframe, emphasizing the government's commitment to quality, timely completion, and accountability.

To enhance coordination and effective communication throughout the project, he announced the appointment of a Special Project Coordinator and community liaison representatives who will serve as the link between the government, the contractor, and the host communities.

He further disclosed that government officials, alongside representatives of the construction firm, would embark on courtesy visits to the traditional rulers of the affected communities before the commencement of major construction works. The visits, he said, are aimed at fostering mutual understanding, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the cooperation of the host communities throughout the duration of the project.

The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the ECN/Otu-Jeremi/Udu Road is expected to improve connectivity, enhance economic activities, and ease transportation for residents and businesses along the corridor.
