Aiguobarueghian Unveils Vision For Ovia, Promises Grassroots Development and Accountable Representation
Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, a House of Representatives hopeful for Ovia Federal Constituency, has unveiled an ambitious vision for the constituency, pledging to prioritize grassroots development, youth empowerment, improved infrastructure, quality healthcare, and transparent leadership if elected in the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued by CIA Media, Aiguobarueghian described the forthcoming election as a defining moment for the people of Ovia, urging constituents to reject what he termed "politics as usual" and embrace a new era of purposeful representation.
According to him, the constituency has endured years of neglect, with deteriorating roads, poorly equipped healthcare facilities, and inadequate support for farmers, traders, and other small-scale entrepreneurs.
He stated that his aspiration is driven by a desire to restore opportunities to the people and ensure that Ovia receives its fair share of federal attention and development.
As part of his agenda, Aiguobarueghian pledged to champion a grassroots economic development programme that would facilitate community-managed cooperative grants aimed at supporting market women, farmers, and small businesses across the constituency.
He also promised to establish the Ovia Youth Empowerment Hub, which he said would provide digital skills training, technology innovation centres, and employment opportunities to equip young people with the skills needed to thrive in today's economy.
On infrastructure, the House of Representatives hopeful said he would advocate for accelerated federal intervention to rehabilitate major roads, improve drainage systems, and expand rural electrification to stimulate economic growth and improve living standards.
Aiguobarueghian further pledged to promote legislation that would strengthen access to healthcare by supporting free maternal healthcare services and subsidized medical treatment for senior citizens.
Emphasizing transparency and accountability, he promised to establish an open-door constituency council that would enable residents to participate in monitoring constituency projects and ensure that public funds are managed responsibly.
He maintained that effective representation is built on integrity, accessibility, and service to the people, assuring constituents that he would remain committed to their welfare and aspirations.
Calling on the electorate to support his candidacy, Aiguobarueghian urged the people of Ovia to seize the opportunity to elect a representative focused on development, accountability, and inclusive governance in the 2027 elections.
