Benue Government Extends 50% Discount On BDIC Digital Devices Indefinitely
The Benue State Government has approved the indefinite extension of the 50 per cent discount on selected digital devices manufactured by the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC), following what it described as overwhelming public response and unprecedented demand across the state.
The discount programme was initially introduced as part of activities marking Benue State's 50th anniversary celebration. According to the government, the initiative attracted significant patronage from civil servants, students, entrepreneurs, businesses, educational institutions, and other residents seeking affordable access to digital technology.
The state government said Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia approved the indefinite extension of the initiative as part of his administration's broader commitment to building a digitally inclusive and technology-driven Benue.
According to the government, the programme has now been transformed into a strategic Digital Transformation Initiative aimed at expanding access to digital tools, promoting digital literacy, supporting innovation, and empowering residents to participate in the growing digital economy.
The Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) said it remains committed to producing high-quality, locally assembled digital devices while providing the digital infrastructure needed to support education, governance, enterprise development, and economic growth across the state.
Under the initiative, eligible buyers can purchase selected BDIC-manufactured laptops, tablets, and other approved digital devices at half their regular prices.
The government encouraged individuals, educational institutions, businesses, and organisations to take advantage of the offer, which will remain in effect until further notice. Interested buyers are advised to visit the BDIC headquarters or contact the company through its official communication channels for enquiries, eligibility requirements, and purchase procedures.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the management of the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC).
