2027: NDC Youth Wing Pledges To Mobilize Rivers Youths For Political Change

The Rivers State Coordinator of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) National Youth Wing, Comrade Amamina Solomon Ayotamuno, has reaffirmed the party's commitment to youth empowerment, political participation, and national transformation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview, Comrade Ayotamuno said his decision to join the NDC was driven by a deep desire to contribute to the liberation of Nigerians from what he described as years of political hardship, poor governance, and socio-economic challenges.

According to him, the NDC remains committed to building a nation where citizens enjoy good governance, economic prosperity, security, and equal opportunities.

The youth leader explained that one of his primary responsibilities as the Rivers State Coordinator of the NDC National Youth Wing is to educate, mobilize, and empower young people, while creating awareness about the importance of active participation in politics and governance.

He emphasized that Nigerian youths must take ownership of their future by becoming active participants in the nation's democratic process rather than remaining passive observers.

"Our focus is to educate, empower and create awareness among young people. The future belongs to the youths, and they must prepare themselves to occupy leadership positions at every level of government," he said.

Speaking on the party's strategy for the 2027 elections, Ayotamuno noted that the NDC National Youth Wing is intensifying grassroots sensitization and political education across communities to encourage greater youth involvement and voter participation.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria's future remains bright despite the country's present challenges, insisting that there is still hope for meaningful national renewal.

"There is still hope for Nigeria. We believe Nigerians deserve better leadership, and we are working towards building a government that will be different from what we have today," he stated.

Addressing the challenges confronting youths in Rivers State, the NDC chieftain alleged that many young people have suffered political marginalization and exclusion from governance. He maintained that the party intends to challenge what it described as the dominance of the existing political establishment through democratic means during the 2027 elections.

Ayotamuno further described the NDC as a party founded on the ideals of justice, accountability, inclusiveness, and people-oriented governance. He said the party is determined to address issues such as insecurity, economic hardship, unemployment, and inadequate human capital development through practical and sustainable policies.

He called on Rivers people and Nigerians across the country not to lose hope but to remain actively engaged in the democratic process.

"The Nigeria Democratic Congress has the vision and ideology to move this nation forward. We urge Nigerians not to give up on the country. Together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams. Join the NDC and be part of the movement for positive change," Ayotamuno said.
