EBSU First-Class Graduates Endorse Nwifuru For Second Term, Cite Transformational Leadership

The Newly-Employed Ebonyi State University (EBSU) First-Class Forum has unanimously endorsed Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 governorship election, citing what it described as his exceptional leadership and remarkable achievements across critical sectors of the state.

The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of an expanded stakeholders' meeting of the forum, an umbrella body of first-class graduates recently appointed as academic staff of Ebonyi State University following the approval of Governor Nwifuru.

According to the communiqué, members of the forum are also beneficiaries of the governor's fully funded PhD scholarship programme, covering both local and international universities.

The forum commended Governor Nwifuru's administration for implementing the People's Charter of Needs agenda, which it said has brought significant development to education, security, healthcare, infrastructure, industrialisation, rural development, and human capital development across Ebonyi State.

It particularly applauded the governor's commitment to education, describing him as the first governor in the South-East to employ qualified graduates from all five states of the region into a state-owned university while simultaneously sponsoring their doctoral studies.

The group stated that Governor Nwifuru's achievements have earned him widespread acceptance among Ebonyi people at home and in the diaspora, expressing confidence that his performance has positioned him as the leading contender for the 2027 governorship election.

Reaffirming its support, the forum pledged unwavering loyalty to the governor's administration and declared that his re-election bid is deserving of the backing of all well-meaning Ebonyians.

The communiqué concluded with the slogan, "Let the good work continue," while expressing optimism that Governor Nwifuru would complete a second tenure in 2031 before moving on to greater responsibilities in public service.

The communiqué was jointly signed by the Chairman of the Newly-Employed EBSU First-Class Graduates Forum, Comrade Agu Israel Nwodom; the President of FON Scholars, United Kingdom, Comrade Nweze Isaiah; and the Public Relations Officer of the EBSU First-Class Forum, Comrade Igwe Basil Chisom.
