Ebonyi Ranks Among Nigeria's Top Three NECO-Performing States For Two Consecutive Years

Ebonyi State has emerged as one of Nigeria's top three performing states in the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations for both 2024 and 2025, further underscoring the growing impact of the state's investments in education under the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

According to the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Elene Oketa, the achievement reflects the governor's deliberate and sustained commitment to strengthening basic education across the state.

"In both 2024 and 2025, Ebonyi State ranked among Nigeria's top three states in NECO performance," Oketa stated, describing the feat as "a testament to the purposeful investments of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in basic education."

He noted that the administration's interventions in the education sector have focused on improving learning infrastructure, supporting teachers, and creating a conducive environment for students to thrive academically.

"When classrooms are improved, teachers are supported, and students are given the right environment to learn, excellence follows," he said.

Oketa added that Ebonyi's outstanding performance in the national examination is clear evidence that strategic investment in education yields measurable and sustainable results.

The state's consistent ranking among the nation's best-performing states in NECO examinations has been widely viewed as an indication of the positive outcomes of the Nwifuru administration's human capital development agenda and its commitment to raising educational standards.

Observers say the achievement reinforces the importance of continued investment in education as a catalyst for social and economic development, while positioning Ebonyi as a model for educational advancement in Nigeria.
