According to the governor, the projects commissioned by the NSCDC demonstrate the command's commitment to institutional growth, personnel welfare, operational readiness, and improved service delivery.
"It is my pleasure to be here at the Civil Defence Headquarters, Yenagoa, to identify with the Command on this important occasion," he said.

"I commend the Commandant and officers of the NSCDC, Bayelsa State Command, for their dedication to duty and their continued contribution to the security and protection of lives, critical assets, and public infrastructure in our state.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Bayelsa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Matthew Palmer, described the event as a significant milestone for the command. He noted that the projects reflected the vision of the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Abubakar Audi, and were made possible through the enabling environment created by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Palmer explained that the facilities were designed to improve operational efficiency, boost morale, and enhance the welfare of personnel.
"Today marks a milestone for the Command with the commissioning of our newly constructed Quarter Guard, Photo Stand, activation of the Sick Bay, and the groundbreaking of our Command's Officers' Mess," he said.

"The Quarter Guard stands as the face of our discipline and readiness. The Photo Stand will preserve our history and pride, while the Sick Bay affirms our commitment to the health and welfare of our officers and men. The Officers' Mess, when completed, will serve as a hub for professional engagement, welfare, and camaraderie among officers."

He added that the projects were made possible through the dedication of the state command and the support of stakeholders committed to strengthening the Corps and enhancing its service delivery.

In separate goodwill messages, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Daniel Iyamah; the Commander, Mobility Command of the Nigerian Air Force, represented by Air Commodore Muhammed Garba; and Assistant Commandant General Ben Dikuro, lauded the Bayelsa NSCDC Command for embarking on the projects, describing them as laudable and impactful.
