Bayelsa Government Intensifies Power Restoration Efforts Across The State
The Bayelsa State Government, through the Bayelsa State Electricity Company, has intensified efforts to improve electricity supply across the state with ongoing repairs, upgrades, and expansion of power infrastructure aimed at delivering reliable electricity to more communities.
As part of the extensive intervention, the electricity company is replacing faulty breakers, repairing damaged feeders, changing worn-out power lines, and carrying out maintenance works on transformers across various locations in the state.
Authorities have emphasized that restoring and expanding power supply is a gradual process that requires careful coordination and significant infrastructural improvements. Some feeders are also being made available to the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) for the transmission of electricity to other areas, making collaboration and technical adjustments necessary.
The government is investing substantial resources to address long-standing challenges within the state's power network. In areas such as Azikoro, where several electricity lines have deteriorated over the years, replacement works are already underway. Similarly, communities with multiple transformers requiring repairs and upgrades are receiving attention as part of the broader power restoration programme.
Officials noted that the absence of electricity in some communities at the moment should not be interpreted as exclusion from the ongoing efforts. According to the electricity company, engineers and technical teams are working round the clock to trace faults, replace damaged equipment, and strengthen the network to ensure stable and sustainable power supply throughout the state.
Residents have been urged to remain patient and continue supporting the government's efforts, as the positive results already being recorded in some areas demonstrate the progress being made.
With sustained investments and ongoing infrastructure upgrades, the government remains optimistic that the benefits of improved electricity supply will gradually extend to every part of Bayelsa State.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing power infrastructure as a critical component of economic growth, improved living standards, and sustainable development across the state.
