Uzodimma Accepts Call To Contest Imo West Senate Seat, Reaffirms Loyalty To APC

Governor Hope Uzodimma has formally declared his intention to contest for the Imo West Senatorial seat, stating that he accepted the call to serve the people of the district with “humility, sincerity of purpose, and unwavering commitment.”

Uzodimma made this known after appearing before the screening committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party’s National Assembly primary election.

Addressing party leaders and members, the Imo State governor said the people of Imo West Senatorial District had once again entrusted him with the responsibility to represent them at the National Assembly.

“My dear people of Imo West Senatorial District have once again called upon me to serve, and I have accepted this noble call with utmost humility, sincerity of purpose, and unwavering commitment to the collective advancement of our people,” Uzodimma stated.

He noted that his aspiration was rooted in service to both the party and the people, stressing that the senatorial mandate primarily belongs to the APC.

“During the engagement, I reaffirmed that the Senatorial seat I seek to occupy belongs first and foremost to our great party, while I remain only a loyal and dedicated candidate entrusted with the responsibility of projecting and advancing the ideals, vision, and aspirations of the APC to the very best of my ability,” he said.

Uzodimma further praised the ruling party for what he described as its commitment to purposeful leadership and democratic governance across the country.

“Our great party has continued to demonstrate steadfast commitment to purposeful leadership, people-oriented governance, and the delivery of democratic dividends across the nation. It, therefore, remains our collective duty to sustain and deepen this noble mission for the benefit of all Nigerians,” he added.

The governor also linked his senatorial ambition to the broader objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, pledging to provide quality representation and effective legislation if elected.

“My aspiration to represent the good people of Imo West Senatorial District at the Red Chamber is inspired by the desire to consolidate on the gains of the #RenewedHope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through quality representation, effective legislation, enhanced development, and sustainable progress for our people and our nation,” Uzodimma stated.
