Tinubu Wins Rivers APC Presidential Primary As Fubara Commends Peaceful Exercise

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for the smooth conduct of Saturday’s presidential primary election, which produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the clear winner.

Governor Fubara, who served as the State Collation Officer for the exercise, announced that President Tinubu secured all 280,082 votes cast across the 23 local government areas of the state.
He explained that although the APC had 297,068 registered members in Rivers State, a total of 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the primary. According to him, all valid votes were reportedly cast in favour of President Tinubu, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, did not record any vote.

The governor described the exercise as peaceful, seamless, and one of the most organized internal party elections in recent times, attributing the success to effective planning and coordination by the party leadership.
“I am impressed with the conduct of the process and the orderly collation of results from across the state,” Fubara said.

He added that after carefully reviewing the figures from the 23 local government areas, he certified the results as accurate and reflective of the outcome of the exercise in the state.
While noting Tinubu’s decisive victory in Rivers State, the governor clarified that the final declaration of the primary election results remains the responsibility of the APC national headquarters in Abuja.
