Fubara Assures Completion Of Rivers State Secretariat Renovation By Q1 2027
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured civil servants and residents that the ongoing renovation of the Rivers State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt will be completed and handed over by the first quarter of 2027.
The Governor gave the assurance on Monday during an on-the-spot inspection of the project at the Secretariat Complex, where he assessed the level and quality of work being carried out.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara said he had previously observed the outward transformation of the complex but decided to personally inspect the interior sections to evaluate the progress more closely.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace and standard of work so far, noting that the project is advancing steadily and remains on track for completion within the projected timeline.
“We just toured the renovation of the State Secretariat. I have been seeing the outer part wearing a new look, but I wanted to confirm the level of work going on inside, and that was why I came to inspect it myself,” the Governor said.
“With the progress of work here, by the grace of God, I believe that by the first quarter of next year it will be handed over to the government.”
Governor Fubara also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects across the state, stressing that none of the projects initiated under his leadership would be abandoned.
“Like I promised, every job that we are handling, we will ensure that we complete them,” he added.
The Rivers State Government says the renovation of the Secretariat Complex is part of its broader effort to modernize public infrastructure and improve the working environment for civil servants.
