APC Imo Tells Aspirants To Engage Party Members Ahead of Primaries
The All Progressives Congress in Imo State has urged aspirants seeking elective positions on the party’s platform to intensify grassroots consultations ahead of the forthcoming 2026 primary elections.
In a press statement issued by the party, the Imo APC reminded members that, in line with the revised schedule for the 2026 primaries, the exercise to nominate candidates for the 27 State Constituencies, 10 House of Representatives seats and three Senatorial Districts was fast approaching.
The party directed all aspirants to immediately commence extensive engagement with party members across the wards in their respective constituencies, stressing that the decision on who emerges as flag bearer would rest solely with party members.
According to the statement, every card-carrying member of the APC is automatically a “kingmaker” as all members would participate in voting during the primaries.
The party further advised leaders and officials at different levels not to obstruct aspirants from reaching out to members and marketing themselves ahead of the exercise.
It also encouraged members to make themselves available whenever approached by aspirants, urging them to listen to all contenders, ask relevant questions and make informed decisions before casting their votes.
Reaffirming its commitment to a credible process, the Imo APC assured aspirants of fairness, equity and transparency throughout the primaries, while calling on all stakeholders to uphold the spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship which, it said, remain core values of the party.
