Uzodimma Reaffirms Commitment To Equity, Peace,, Sustainable Development In Imo

Governor Hope Uzodimma has reiterated that sustainability and continuity remain critical to achieving the long-term development aspirations of Imo State, stressing the need for a well-structured political arrangement that guarantees peace and stability.

The governor made this known while receiving the report on the Imo Charter of Equity from the Imo Elders’ Council, describing the document as a vital framework established by law to guide successive administrations toward peaceful and inclusive governance.
Uzodimma emphasized that justice and equity are fundamental to lasting peace, noting that no meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere of division or exclusion.

“The unity of our State is greater than the interest of any individual or group,” the governor stated, urging stakeholders to uphold the principles of the Charter of Equity as a pathway to justice, harmony, and sustained development.
He further affirmed his administration’s commitment to continuity in governance, adding that adherence to the Charter would help preserve stability and ensure that development efforts are not disrupted.

Governor Uzodimma also reiterated his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose policies and developmental initiatives, he said, have complemented state-level efforts and contributed significantly to national progress.
The governor concluded by calling for collective responsibility among leaders and citizens to safeguard unity and uphold the ideals of fairness and inclusiveness in governance.
