Uzodimma Celebrates Mothering Sunday With CWO, Urges Greater Appreciation For Mothers
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on Sunday joined the Christian Women Organisation (CWO) to mark Mothering Sunday at his home parish, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish, Ozuh.
The Governor, accompanied by his wife, Chief Barr. (Mrs.) Chioma Uzodimma, described the occasion as a moment of gratitude and reflection, noting that the parish holds deep personal significance as it was built in honour and loving memory of his late mother.
Speaking shortly after the Holy Eucharistic Mass, Uzodimma delivered a message directed particularly at children and young people, urging them to recognize and appreciate the vital role mothers play in shaping families and society.
He stressed the need for mothers to be accorded the respect, value, and affection they deserve, highlighting their enduring sacrifices, guidance, and unconditional love.
The Governor further noted that while Mothering Sunday provides an opportunity for celebration, mothers should be cherished and honoured at all times for their invaluable contributions to humanity.
The event featured active participation by members of the Christian Women Organisation, who gathered in large numbers to commemorate the day with prayers, thanksgiving, and communal reflection.
