Dagogo Achese Urges Unity Between VeryDarkBlackMan and Omoyele Sowore in Open Letter
A Port Harcourt-based public affairs commentator, Dagogo Achese, has issued an open letter calling for restraint and unity between popular social commentator VeryDarkBlackMan and activist politician Omoyele Sowore, amid concerns over potential tensions between the two influential figures.
In the letter, Achese acknowledged VeryDarkBlackMan’s growing influence, describing him as a voice for many Nigerians who feel unheard. He commended his boldness in addressing societal issues and advocating for the oppressed.
However, Achese cautioned against any form of confrontation with Sowore, highlighting the activist’s long-standing role in Nigeria’s struggle for justice and accountable governance. He noted that Sowore has consistently challenged injustice and remained committed to the welfare of ordinary citizens, often at significant personal cost.
The commentator emphasized that both individuals occupy important positions in Nigeria’s civic space and warned that any rivalry between them could distract from pressing national issues, including economic hardship, governance challenges, and the wellbeing of citizens.
Achese further observed that Sowore has largely maintained focus on governance and justice-related matters rather than engaging in personal disputes, stressing that such an approach strengthens the broader struggle for national development.
He concluded by urging both figures to prioritize unity over division, noting that their differing styles and perspectives should serve as a strength rather than a source of conflict.
The open letter has since sparked conversations across social media, with many Nigerians echoing the call for collaboration and mutual respect among prominent voices advocating for change.
